Keep in mind that these wait times are just averages – if you submit your application during a busy season, or if there are any other complications with your application, it could take longer. In normal times, the wait time for a new passport in the UK is generally around five weeks, and this can depend on the location you are applying from. If you are traveling within the above processing times and can provide proof of planned travel (issued flight ticket), please schedule an appointment to apply in person using our online Passport Appointment System.
